Eligibility Criteria

For Bachelor’s Programs:

  • Academic Qualification: 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 60% (varies by course/institution)

  • English Proficiency:

  • IELTS: minimum 6.0 overall (no band less than 5.5)

  • TOEFL/PTE scores also accepted

  • Entrance Exams: Not typically required

  • Age Requirement: Usually 17 years or above at the time of course commencement

For Master’s / MBA Programs:

Submit via AVATS online system. Print and sign the summary form generated.

Valid for at least 12 months after your intended arrival. Include copies of all previous visas and stamps.

From a recognized Irish institution confirming full-time enrollment in a course (minimum 15 hours/week).

Show evidence that tuition fees are paid in full (or partially, with bank statement proof of balance).

You must show access to €10,000 for living expenses/year (outside Dublin) or €12,000–€15,000 (in Dublin). Bank statement + official sponsorship letter (if funded).

2 photos as per INIS photo guidelines, not older than 6 months.

IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or Duolingo – minimum scores vary by institution, generally IELTS 6.0 or equivalent for Bachelor's, higher for Master's/MBA.

A letter explaining your academic background, goals, why Ireland, and your chosen course/institution.

Degree certificates, mark sheets, transcripts. Must be notarized or certified copies.

Must cover your entire stay. Often provided by the university or can be bought separately (e.g., Study & Protect, Irish Life).

Booking confirmation, rental agreement, or written confirmation from your host.

Long Stay Student Visa Fee: approx. €60–€100, depending on nationality and payment method.

In some cases, a recent PCC may be required to show no criminal record.

Documents to prove you intend to return home (property, family, job offers, etc.).

Important Notes:

  • The post-study work scheme is called the Third Level Graduate Programme.

  • During this period, students can work full-time (up to 40 hours/week).

  • It allows time to find a job or transition to a work permit (e.g., Critical Skills Employment Permit).

  • Students cannot renew the graduate visa beyond the allowed duration.
